Paul & Dave, hmm, now there's an idea. My neighbor has a lawn tractor & maybe I could rent a crane somewhere? But wait, what about the sides of the hedges? Here's an idea for that:

All done with the hedge project. Just came in from burning the last of the brush & raking the yard.
Took me about a month to do it all, working an hour or so a day on the warm, dry days.
Used a chainsaw for the inch-thick branches, then loppers to cut the next thickest ones & then my cordless clippers for the thin ones.
Dragged all the piles of branches to the burn pit. Let those dry out then sawed & lopped them into 4 ft pieces.
Since the brush was still a lil' green, at first I used kerosene to get a hot fire going. Nothing left now but a pile of ashes in the pit. Which I'll dig out & dump after the next rain.
