Way back in my WebTV days I opened an image/website hosting account at Domania. That was when I was learning to create WebTV signatures one could use when posting in Alt.Discuss. A talent I learned mostly from Draac's HTML lessons site.
I found it so interesting to learn to use HTML that I built my own personal website all about me, my interests & such from scratch. Line by line of code. I enjoy being creative & learning new things so I found that website building experience very interesting.
I've not been to that site in years though & when I got the invoice from the host, now ZBox Hosting, I attempted to visit my site. But, I built it too well it seems, even I can't access it. Way back then a friend of mine showed me how easily he could enter my site & fool around in it. So I learned how to use Javascript to install a password page, giving said password only to those I knew personally.
If one doesn't know the password they get a page that declares: Unauthorized Access Is Forbidden! With appropriate graphics like a flashing police bubble light & police siren sound effect. Well, I simply can't get past that, I've forgotten how & whatever password I used has been long forgotten.
And when I couldn't get in I realized it doesn't matter to me. The fact that I've not looked at it in about 15 yrs proves that. So, I've closed my account. Which was a sad & nostalgic moment for me. Likely 'cause I miss those WebTV community days, the numerous friends I made & the good times we had learning to use our devices & the Internet.
Those were, indeed, the good old days.
