David I'm not understanding why you need an authorization code when I didn't get that message and I didn't need an authorization code to create my user name in here.
Did you read the post I made on page one of this thread where I stated that if you already have a proboard account, then all you do is register with your email addy that you use in your proboard account and then use the pw that goes with that account. On the next page you're given the choice to make a new username for this group and it asks that you show that you're not a bot by putting a check mark in the box---you don't do anything else at that point other then let the page reload on it's own, at which point you should be taken to a page that states you successfully registered.
Maybe because you're not using an adblocker, that's why you're having difficulty registering though I just look and I see that you are shown registered under 3 different names. Maybe you just need to write down the username and password you want to use in here and remember to sign in with only that one.
Here's your registration info-

I finally got here through a Global ProBoard page showing my accounts. When it comes to signing in to one of the accounts it just doesn't work for some reason it doesn't recognize the account. Actually have 2 accounts. One with an emphysema forum and now Pete's forum. Phil's forum is under a different email address so is not associated with these two forums.
Anyway until I figure it out I will go to the ProBoard dash board and go from there. I never use the emphysema forum with the google browser. I use FireFox for that one.
Anyway Pete I need you to delete the davidf and the davidh accounts and I will try and stick with the david account.

3 Davids? I wondered what the heck was going on. Sorry to hear about your trouble, I'll look around my admin-options & see where I can delete DF & DH.

Thanks, Nancy for all your help.

I'm getting concerned about Sandy. I know she saw my Personal Message in our former group & I sent her an e-mail, no answer & no sign-up here.

One thing about all the guest is that is people reading the forum. More people can find this forum better than the other forum.
Heck over at the emphysema forum I am in hundreds of people read that forum everyday seeking help about COPD. This is the last 24 hours. Users Online in the Last 24 Hours 3 Staff, 9 Members, 172 Guests. So you can see a lot of guest are reading the forum looking for help. Some days it is more.
Sometime a guest will ask a question. and we answer. Not everyone wants to join and participate. That's what is good about having guest able to post. We don't have to go through all the Welcomes. They just want a question answered. We very seldom get a spammer on that forum.

David, that's a good point. Having guests who can post is a bonus. They may only have one question & if they had to register just to ask it they likely wouldn't but would look elsewhere.
I still wonder how they found this group so quickly? Maybe one of our guests will tell us?

Yay, I did it. When I first created this group it wouldn't let me use the name Xtreme 5.0 since a 'dot' is an unacceptable character. So it was Xtreme-5. Which I didn't care for as a logo. So I use the steps I used to create our logo in 4.0 (remember it was removed?) to recreate the same logo; image search, image edit with Shutter & figuring out how to display that logo here. Which did result in a few errors. Yeah, I screwed it up. But as you can see it's OK now. Next I want to see if I can import more emoticons like I could in our last group. The ones here are pretty generic. I prefer animated ones.

Just figured out which language this group uses. I was hoping it wasn't British English, like our last group, but American English instead. But it's British, you can see that if, for example, you type 'color'. It'll be marked misspelled since it "should be" colour.
Sometimes I'm not sure how to spell a word & when I think it's spelled right but it's marked as misspelled when it's actually not in AE, it gets confusing.

When my Mom was dying there were a few guest on Phil's forum that posted and sent their condolences. That was nice of them. They didn't want to join they just wanted to comfort me. People like to lurk in these groups. People find groups through the directory www.proboards.com/forum-directory
