Last Online: May 18, 2019 at 9:13pm his post of his dog being attacked. So just over 24 approx before death depending on how often he had staff coming in. I always feel better about a quick passing.
domania.us/justdhf/my_story.html had no post in 3 years, when he went on nighttime oxygen.

David is the reason I'm a Linux user. About 5 yrs ago my Windows laptop picked up malware somewhere & became nearly a brick, barely usable. When I related the problem in our newsgroup David voluntarily burned 4 CDs for me with different versions of Linux on them & mailed those to me & didn't want anything in return for those. He also taught me how to install & boot those up. He was always ready to help me out & enabled me to be online until I could get a new laptop. One with Linux Ubuntu already installed as the OS. I still have those CDs that at the time helped me thru a rough spot & now with his passing have become a tangible keepsake in memory of him & his willingness to always help others.

As I've said in my previous post, David was always willing to help us & others with how-to info & such. A testament to his helpfulness is the website (below) he created that contains about 100 useful links & tutorials. David's Website

Did you know that David was also on Twitter? Well, he was & you can see his postings here.
Something I found that he had re-Tweeted about 1 month before his passing was the quote below. It reminds me of how he strongly believed in an afterlife & his optimistic attitude about leaving this world for a better place.
"For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity." ~William Penn

Thank you, Pete, for sharing your fond memories of David. We have all lost a wonderful person and friend. Here is what I wrote chez Phil on Thursday after we learned of David's passing:
Even with his breathing problems, David didn't wallow in self pity, but rather enjoyed that which he could do. He loved the Florida climate and living on the beach. He considered it paradise. When he had to leave the beach condo, he approached his new home with enthusiasm.
He had a wonderful disposition, never crossed swords with anyone and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He loved learning new things and trying new gadgets, once even bought a small drone. Had he been born a few years later, he might have had a career in computers. Or, as he once said, he would have been happy growing marijuana. I'm glad he lived to see it become legal and to find comfort using it over the last few months.
David, I am glad to have known you, if only as a cyber friend in a forum. You will be sorely missed.
"Never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." ~ John Donne
