Jose is a Category 1 Hurricane, if that, but it is poised to impact the areas where Cathy and Dave2 live. The Weather Channel warns of heavy rain, wind and rip tides. Plus, it may stick around the area for a while.
Even more dangerous is Maria, a major Cat 4 storm that is following a path similar to that of Irma and is currently threatening the same islands that Irma devastated.
And we are getting some heavy rain from Norma, west of Mexico, which we don't need
We will want to keep an eye on these storms because many of us are still in harms way.

I hope my Maria turns and goes to the North. She is already a bad mamma.
Maria went from a Tropical Storm to a Cat 5 Hurricane in just over 27 hours. Wind speeds increased ~90 mph within that span.

The prime minister of Dominica, a Caribbean island, posted online that Hurricane Maria devastated the island, sweeping away the roofs "of almost every" resident he contacted—including his own ... The category 4 hurricane is starting a charge into the eastern Caribbean that threatens islands already devastated by Hurricane Irma and holds the possibility of a direct hit on Puerto Rico. Authorities in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico warned that people in wooden or flimsy homes should find safe shelter before the storm’s expected arrival there on Wednesday.

The forecast is for Maria to take a sharp turn to the north after leaving Puerto Rico in shambles. However, they said the same exact thing about Irma and all she did was to continue west, then make a sharp north turn over Florida.

Jose is here in Massachusetts now for the second day. Feels very tropical and breezy, with periods of light rain. Haven't seen any tree limbs down or anything. Hope Maria stays away.

Man, Dominica was wiped out. I really feel sorry for those people. All their crops are ruined. Their livelihoods destroyed.

Dominica’s prime minister said at least 15 people are dead and 20 are missing after Hurricane Maria hit the Caribbean island. Trump used the word obliterated. But just that is not what he said. Trump says Puerto Rico obliterated by Hurricane Maria - Reuters www.reuters.com/.../trump-says-puerto-rico-obliterated-by-hurricane-maria-id... 5 hours ago - President Donald Trump said on Thursday that Hurricane Maria "totally obliterated" the U.S. island territory of Puerto Rico with its electrical grid ...
