I like the idea of an ongoing daily feature, titled, "On This Day." Is anyone else interested?
I think it would be best located in the "News" forum - recurring, perhaps not every day, but any day there is something interesting or worth remembering.

I think our "On This Day" threads should include the anniversary of many historic events in entertainment, science, technology, war, court rulings, catastrophes, the beginning or end of an era - anything worth noting and/or remembering. I also think our threads should be individually titled "On This Day in Day/Month/Year." And, within that thread, we can comment on anything of particular interest.
Whatcha think guys?

Today in 2001 - In an address to a joint session of Congress and the American people, U.S. President George W. Bush declares a “War on Terror”.
Bush outlined his plans that would begin with al-Qaida. He proclaimed that America would “pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists.” Bush’s speech also marked the night that he unveiled his plans for a new U.S. Department of Homeland Security. His inspirational speech continued with the now-famous line, “We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail.”
