Here in PA it's been in the 80s for about ten days now. Today was the hottest: 88. Very unusual for near the end of September. Normally we would've had frost by now.

Though it's been unseasonably hot here we do get relief overnight, the temperature drops 25 degrees on average. Yesterday, as I've said, it was 88. this morning it's 60.
And has Henry had said, cooler days are soon arriving. Beginning on Thursday daytime temps will be in the 60s, with 40s overnight.

Oddly enough, we have had similar weather hear in the 'semi tropics,' plus, we too will experience cooler weather and lower humidity when a front rolls in on Thursday.

Sandy, yeah but, cooler in TX is defined differently than it is in PA. I've heard, for example, folks in your state or a neighboring one, say something like: well, it was 110 today but it cooled off to 85 overnight. And I'd be like: What?! 85 ain't cool!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we will "cool down" from temps in the 90's to temps in the 80's. But hey, when those 10 degree drops are accompanied by lower humidity, you really can feel a difference.
Anyhow, we are about a month away from 6 months of glorious Spring/Fall weather, our reward for surviving hellishly hot summers.

Sandy, just the opposite here: we're soon in for 6 months of icy, windy, snowy winter.

About the same up here in Maine. it's been in the mid 80's for 3 days but the nights are cool. Temp is supposed to top out at 70 tomorrow and stay that way into next week. One night over the week-end they're saying it will dip to 39!! that'll be the first time below 40 this fall, if it actually gets that low.

Dave, cooler is fine with me. Makes working at my job outdoors much more comfortable.
