We've had snow a few times before but only flurries & a light dusting. But it's been snowing since last night & still is a little this a.m. Total so far is 3". Temp is 27°.
Sunny & in the 40s coming soon for most of the week so all the snow will melt.

No snow here but, then again. we live right on the coast and many of the winter snows turn to rain as they reach our area. Note: "many" - We also get buried on occasion.

Dave, when you've mentioned living close to the ocean in winter before I'd thought that the air coming across the water would be colder.
But now I realize that the water likely retains heat.
Which, like when we're hit with a Nor'easter, then the warmer air picks up alot of moisture from the ocean. Then when it hits the colder air on land we get real deep snow.

And in those cases, folks near the shore tend to get the warmer air before it chills moving inland. I seem to recall that the tailend of the Gulfstream passes off Cape Cod bringing the warmer water with it also accounting for the warmer temps.

Dave, here in PA it's been an unusually warm winter so far. This week's temps will be in the 40s. Normally those would be in the teens.
Alot less (is that an oxymoron?) snow too. The most we've gotten is 3". Often in December at least one snowstorm would give us snow measured in feet.
