Moving across the country from the west. Will hit central states soon then get here to PA on Saturday. Then for us it'll move out to the Atlantic Ocean, picking up lotsa moisture, & circle back to hit us with a Nor'easter. Which of course will add to the snowfall depth.
Saw my neighbor in his garage yesterday test-running his snowblower, the one I use to clear our shared driveway & parking area. So looks like I'll be out there & busy over the weekend. But I may get lucky. One time last winter our new neighbor across the road came over & plowed our place with his tractor.

Henry, ha, lota hype about this storm. At least for my area. Just heard on the news amount to be expected here: 5".
Which in comparison to snowfalls we've had in the past ain't all that much. Normally we would have had at least one snowfall so far measured in feet.
In the early 90s an overnight storm gave us 3 ft of snow.

Henry, ours still said to be 5" on Saturday & another inch on Sunday.
Folks quoted in the newspaper this a.m. were rejoicing. Like, "Finally some snow!" 'Cause so far we've only had flurries or a one-time 3".
Which surely is unusual. Normally folks would be tired of snow by now & wishing for spring.

Paul, 12" is alot of snow for sure. That'd take quite some time to dig out of at home & for roads to be cleared.
I'd said before that one time in the early 90s we got 3 ft. The governor shut down all the roads to traffic for 36 hours so those could be plowed.
But no one could go anywhere anyway. In my neighborhood we were all out digging with shovels for hours. At first I couldn't even get out my front door with that much snow piled against.

Bob, that's not too bad. And what's actually good about the snow here is that it's been said that it'll be the heavy kind, like the kind good for making snowballs. I'll be out using a snowblower & in the past with light, powdery snow when I'd make a turn into the wind the snow coming out of the snowblower's chute would blow back onto me. Covering the front of me from head to toe in a coating of snow.

Snow just started falling. Supposed to keep it up till Sunday a.m.
Normally I'd do our food shopping on Sunday but I just got back from doing that. No inclination on my part to be out driving tomorrow.

I suppose by noon we had 1/2". Continued snowing, that non flake type of snow.
It was sitting at 30° all though the night.

Henry, our snow ended about 3:00. Total 4". Light snow, less than an inch, expected tonight. Just got back in from shoveling snow & snow-blowing the parking area. About 40x40 ft. Tool me an hour & all went well without any wind. That is until I got in the house & was pulling off one of my big winter boots, lost my balance & fell on the floor. Ha!

Weather gal took the time Saturday night to mention that the storm out East was from the South, not the one that dusted MN
