She came knocking at the door yesterday with a bag in hand. Which she sometimes does, bringing us a meal she cooked and/or some treats. In this bag was a big apple pie. And on top of that was a small envelope. Upon opening it I found a Thank You card.
With a handwritten note saying: Thank you for all you do. Along with $50.
Apparently a reward for all the snow-blowing I've been doing. Up until now I've always done that for free. I think what prompted her to pay me this time is that I did a lil' extra last time. I brushed 4" of snow off her car so she wouldn't have to. Her husband's truck was gone so he missed out on that.
Anyway, it's nice to be appreciated & get some cash.

Pay for some of that natural gas you're burning up.
Have you noticed what they would be paying for someone with a truck or compact tractor, amidst see with bucket or blower?

Henry, burning up heating dollars for sure this a.m. Outside temp is only 5°. But, starting today I'll be saving dollars 'cause for the next 6 days it'll be as high as 52° during the day & upper 30s overnight.
Dunno how much it'd be to have a contractor remove snow. But, in this neighborhood it's free as far as I know 'cause several neighbors have small tractors with plows & when they're done with their own driveways they do a few other neighbor's driveways.
Those are the same guys who do the same when mowing grass in summer.
