The mystery behind the disappearance of Amelia Earhart over the Pacific Ocean has fascinated people for years. But after a recent deep-sea sonar survey, some closure to the final chapter of her life may be forthcoming.
87 years after disappearing somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, Deep Sea Vision, an ocean exploration company based in Charleston, South Carolina, claims to have found something that could be the wreckage of her plane.

wish these "finds" would be somewhat verified before announcing it ti the world. Quite often someone (or corporation) announces one of these sensational "finds" and upon further review it's found to be nothing of interest. Maybe this is a tramp steamer that sank at some point or a relic from WW2 but once this "announcement" is made, the publicity is garnered and that's a plus for the finders in most cases.

Dave, I hadn't thought about the find not being her plane. If not I'm sure many would be disappointed. But if it is that certainly would be interesting.

Well from what has been released not likely a ship.

And if it is her plane, it would be a sensational find after all of these years but, as in so many previous cases, why not hold off until a more conclusive set of facts are available.
It's not as though other ships with equivalent search equipment are circling the area like feeding sharks.
