Dramatic footage from downtown Louisville, Kentucky, last week showed a semi-tractor trailer truck dangling over the water, after nearly plummeting off the Clark Memorial Bridge.
The Louisville fire department was on the scene within three minutes and devised a plan to rescue the driver who was still trapped inside.

Reminds me of an accident years ago when a big 40 ton coal truck hit the guardrail on a bridge around here & ended up hanging off it. Only thing that kept it from falling 180 ft was that its back wheels were wedged against the concrete wall below the rail. The driver was rescued without harm. Below is a photo of the bridge:

Henry, no, that photo surely isn't downtown, the city in the valley, 6 miles from here.
It's about 4 miles from here in this township in the opposite direction.
Under the center length of that bridge is a catwalk. In high school my friends & I would go under there & walk it. A walk of 1,388 ft. Actually pretty creepy, especially since underfoot was heavy wire mesh so we could see thru that to the ground waaay down there.
New to the bridge is high fencing along the guardrails. To prevent anymore folks from committing suicide by jumping off.
