Do you want to be chained to an outlet for the rest of your life? Of course not. That’s why you got a laptop in the first place. Somewhere down the line, many of us got the idea that our laptops should always be plugged in to improve their performance.
This is a myth that’s slowly killing your laptop. Once your laptop is charged, you need to unplug it, or you might be tethered to the wall forever.

Never realized this and have kept mine plugged in "forever"!! As I don't travel about much, the laptop sits basically in the same couple of spots in our home, day and night. Almost never unplug it and have it operating without a power source.
Guess I'll have to revise my "power or no power" thinking.

Dave, my laptop has been plugged-in for years. That long ago the battery died & I just didn't bother replacing it. I sit in the same spot all the time using it.
