Here in SW PA this a.m. it's partly sunny but this afternoon it's supposed to be overcast with rain. Guess the only way we'll know it's happening is when it gets dark about 3:00.
The only other eclipse I've seen was way back when I was about 14. My friend & I were out in the woods on top of a mountain range. Out hunting crows, sitting there with shotguns & a crow-call to lure them in.
During that the eclipse happened. What was unusual is that when the sun was entirely blacked out it began to snow. This was in mid-June.

How bizarre, Pete - that it snowed in mid-June.
The only way we'll see the eclipse here is on TV.

May see it after all. No rain here. The sun is out occasionally peeking out from behind big, white clouds.

Sandy, unusual for it to snow in PA in June for sure but not really surprising IMO.
I mean I've seen it snow on Mother's Day & the 1st of October in the past.

A weather station said rain was starting in the Houston area but further North in Dallas they should be able to view it.

No eclipse view here. Overcast moved in about 2:30. Still up there.

Hank, there was extensive TV coverage of the eclipse somewhere in Texas, but it wasn't here. Didn't look like the Dallas area either, but could have been nearby. A big crowd of people had gathered to watch the rare event, which they viewed with special eyeglasses.
