I'd used an oil deep-fryer for years but gradually quit using it to the point it's just been sitting on the counter for about a year. Just too troublesome to use. Dumping old oil, washing it out & filling it with new oil. Plus the mess off oil spatters & fried food ain't all that healthy. So I tossed it today.
Have been researching air-fryers off & on & checked out a few in stores. Seems like a good choice to me. But if you own one I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

I also have been curious about air fryers. I haven't done any research other than to note many reviews complain that the air fryer is extremely noisy.

One commercial that caught my attention was by this supposed famous chef, Bela Lugosi or something, boasting of an air fryer with french doors. Yeah, that will just make my day! As for sales pitches, the microwave it is not...

Carl, hadn't heard that those are noisy buy I can see why they could be since they use a fan to circulate the super-hot air.
Though I've given up on oil-fried food I've always liked the taste of that. One thing I wonder is if air-fried food tastes as good? It may 'cause one video I'd watched showed the cook dribbling oil on the food before cooking it.

Carl, had to look it up but the French-door fryer is sponsored by Emeril Lagasse. Commercials featuring Count Dracula (Bela Luogsi) might be kinda scary.

Yeah, I suspected I got the name wrong. You tube showed the same result.

Henry, dunno why it's called an air-fryer since it's actually baking with super-hot air, not frying.

I have a airfryer. It looks just like a counter top little oven. I use it as a oven more than I use it for anything. I baked cornbread in it day before yesterday instead of heating up the big oven. I think I paid $69 for it after Christmas. Around the Holiday's they are really cheap.

Hi! Wow! It's been a while...
Interesting. I might just check one out. What about the noise complaints?

Anna, good idea: using your air-fryer instead of the stove's oven.
I could see me doing that 'cause I don't like to use our oven when it's hot out, it just makes the house hotter.

Pete I love my airfryer for cooking bacon, then I save the bacon grease to use when cooking and my son uses it to fry his eggs. I'll take a picture of it and post it here for you. It has many different features. Like I told you if a pan fits in it, then I'll use it to bake in verse the big oven. I think it is a 12 inch X 12 inch. It is small.
I ordered this black liners from Temu and I put one at the bottom. It catches crumbs, etc. I can take it out and wash it. It is kinda like a plastic for the oven. I also got a big one for my big oven. It catches spills, etc.

Anna, hadn't thought about cooking bacon in a air-fryer. That'd be great 'cause currently I bake it in the oven. Which of course heats the house up more in summer.

Cooking bacon in the airfryer is the only way I cook it. It turns out excellent every single time. I bought a deep fryer in Ohio but I had the same issue as you do. After I cooked in it I had to dump the grease out and clean it out and it was a pain in the arse. If you leave it on the counter the oil gets rancid. When I moved I left it there for Steve, but he didn't use it.
