There are few things worse for you financially than to check your bank account and discover that you’ve been a victim of fraud.
This article will tell you what you need to do if you find fraudulent charges on your bank account statement and how to prevent them.

I've never had a fraudulent charge on my bank statement. If I had, I would 1) have it removed and 2) close that account and open one at another bank.

Sandy, me neither.
Of course I don't have any automatic payments linked to my savings account. Only transactions that go on there are deposits & withdrawals.
My utility companies often bug me to go paperless with my bills which would give them access to my bank money. Never gonna happen.

Pete, I receive paper bills, (from the phone company and cable,) but don't make payments by writing checks and mailing them. Instead, I pay bills directly from my bank account via "bill pay."
However, I write a check and mail my rent. I don't have an electricity bill because that is included in the rent.
It sounds to me like you only use your bank for a savings account, but not a checking account.

Sandy, yep, savings only. For the deposits from SS. Then one withdrawal per month to cover monthly expenses. But $224 less than the deposit so my savings grow each month.
I've never had a checking account. I think you know I pay all my bills with money orders & mail those. Except for the rent, that's in cash.

I went through it in February. Only two charges, both in Atlanta GA! One was a car parking structure, second had a similar name.
Bank called me on a weekend, are you away from home? No. Well we texted will you look at it? Did and thanked them. They said we will overnight new debit card, I said regular mail is fine, no money in account to spend.

Hank, when I requested a new debit card from my bank, it took 7 days to arrive. Instead of using credit cards for online purchases, I now pay with my debit card. If I don't have the money in the bank, I don't buy it.

Henry, yeah, postage stamps are going up to 73¢ soon. But I'll still consider that a bargain 'cause without mailing I'd have to drive my payments to the utility's offices myself. Lotsa driving & gas consumption involved there.
And for the USPS to that for me for less than a dollar is OK.

Sandy, I don't often use my 3 credit cards. I only do so once in awhile to keep those active. Like using one every 3 months or so for an item that I could've paid cash for.
And rarely a costly item. Like last month I replaced our 5 year old microwave that was in poor condition for $68.
If nothing need is needed in the home then I use my cards to buy gas for my Jeep on a monthly rotating basis.

Question: When does the increase in postage stamps go into effect? I recently purchased stamps and don't know what will happen if I continue to use them. btw: They are "forever stamps." Wonder if that is literally true

Sandy, the price hike is effective July 14th. Yeah, 'forever stamps' are forever...until they run out & you have to by more.
