Is the book I've begun reading. Here's the story's outline:
FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years, the one that tells her the Poet has surfaced. She has never forgotten the serial killer who wove lines of poetry in his hideous crimes--and apparently he has not forgotten her.
Former LAPD detective Harry Bosch gets a call, too--from the widow of an old friend. Her husband's death seems natural, but his ties to the hunt for the Poet make Bosch dig deep. Arriving at a derelict spot in the California desert where the feds are unearthing bodies, Bosch joins forces with Rachel. Now the two are at odds with the FBI and squarely in the path of the Poet, who will lead them on a wicked ride out of the heat, through the narrows of evil, and into a darkness all his own.

Pete, I read that book years ago. Didn't you?
At any rate, I wouldn't mind reading it again. I think it is still on my tablet.

Sandy, yeah, I've read it before. But that's OK, it's a good read. On another note: I'm sure you recall about a week ago that I had commented in another Connelly thread about "Haller allegedly dies of a heart attack on his boat whilst investigating some sort of crime. Bosch continues the investigation & also looks into Haller's death." Well, The Narrows is that book. Turns out that when I went book shopping & read its description on its back cover weeks ago that I didn't realize I had on hand the same story I'd described last week.

Pete, that's interesting - about Haller allegedly dying in the book you're reading.
I recall that The Narrows was a good read, but nothing about the plot.
On another note, do you know if there was ever a movie based upon a Michael Connelly book featuring Harry Bausch and/or Michael Haller? If not, who would you choose for those roles?

I knew that there was a TV show based on his books called Bosch. Movies I didn't know of so I looked that up. Only one I found is called Blood Work. As for recommended movie star names, you've found my mental weak spot. I've very poor remembrance of names of people. Even of folks I know & haven't seen for awhile. I imagine you'll understand that, Cindy.

I did a search and found 2 Hollywood movies based upon Michael Connelly books:
1. Blood Work, starring Clint Eastwood
2. The Lincoln Lawyer, starring Matthew Mc Conaughley.
Amazon also has an original movie series of his books.
