This is not about politics, or even Donald Trump, per se. It's about paying a prostitute a sum of money, long after the tryst, to keep her mouth shut about the hook-up.
What I don't understand is why that situation merits a criminal trial? As a matter of fact, I wonder how law enforcement and hence the courts, even learned about it.

Sandy, well, in my limited knowledge hush money payments are common & not illegal.
Though those are more commonly called Nondisclosure Agreements. Big corporations & such use those often in a court case where they're being sued.
Rather than having their wrong being known publicly the plaintiff is paid a sum of money to drop the case & keep quiet about it.

If it was funds from the company, which the convicted liar says it was, and the expense was noted as something different, that would be a crime.
But there is a time limit on such A bookkeeping fraud. Which is way past expired.

I haven't followed any of the Trump trials but on CTV there are many updates on all ongoing trials. What I've seen is every tactic in the book has been used to delay the proceedings. I believe if Mr. Trump were jailed at the start of each trial until the conclusion, that would speed up the process nicely.
