Amazon has introduced a new grocery subscription that is geared specifically towards Prime members and customers using EBT. The new subscription is available in over 3,500 cities across the country.
The subscription offers unlimited grocery deliveries on orders over $35 from Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and local grocers and retailers available on Amazon. Some of the available retailers include: Rite Aid, Save Mart, Pet Food Express, Mission Wine & Spirits, and more.

I order quite a lot from Amazon and, as a Prime member, get free delivery. Amazon Fresh delivers food to my door in heavy lined grocery bags. The customer chooses a 2 hour time window for delivery.
I'm not sure where my order is filled. I suspect that it comes from a nearby Whole Foods, which used to be a Health Food store. Amazon purchased them and may have converted their stores into standard grocery stores.
I am very satisfied with the service.

Up until the last year or so, we always went "shopping" as we have for most of our lives. As age has caught up with us we now order on line (Stop & Shop) and I pick it up at a designated time.
Drive up to one of the designated spots, call the store, and someone brings the groceries out and puts them in the trunk (or back seat - my choice). That's it. The payment is deducted from my account.
Works well for us. The store's only about 3 or 4 miles from the house.

Story on the Mpls new Tuesday maybe. Sounded like trying to grab some wm shoppers.
I do not have a minimum order charge at WM, most of time there is free slot open. I get a text when my shop has begun. If a substition takes place. And when order leaves WM.

Delivery orders under $100 with 2-hour delivery windows include a service fee of $6.95 for orders $50-$100, and $9.95 for orders under $50. For customers who are not Prime members, charges vary between $4.95-$13.95 for 2-hour delivery depending on basket size. Additional fees are charged for rush and one-hour orders. Customers in some areas with delivery time flexibility of up to six hours will receive a reduction in fees.

Putting in Houston zip codes there's both Amazon fresh and Whole Foods availability, if I understood right the fresh items are cheaper.

The reason I switched to Walmart's online grocery delivery service was because in my area the only Amazon delivery window would often be 5 or 6 hours after I filled my cart or I'd have to wait until the next day and then the driver would call complaining that they were hopelessly lost. With the Walmart+ membership (Cost $12.50/mo./$98.00/yr.) the 2 hour delivery windows were always available. Also, there is no minimum purchase requirement and (knock on wood) their drivers have never gotten lost.

Carl, I have no issues with Amazon Fresh deliveries. I can choose a 2 hour window in which I want my order delivered. For me, that is usually 5 - 7 AM. (I order a lot of frozen food, so want delivery before the day heats up.)
My only complaint is that they once substituted one item with another one I did not want. There was no explanation, but it never happened again. Plus, I ultimately ate and was okay with the substituted item.
I order about once a week. When I awake, the grocery bags are at my (upstairs) door, likely not seen from below.
PS - I am missing trips to the grocery store less and less.

Good morning, Sandy
I am sure delivery availability times vary depending on locations. I think Amazon Prime is having trouble keeping experienced drivers in my area. Hence drivers getting lost on simple routes.

Carl. speaking of keeping drivers - when I sign out of Amazom Fresh. I am asked to add a tip to the invoice for the driver. The suggested amount is $5.00, so I go along with that.
Around here, I don't believe there is any shortage of drivers, plus I think that my order comes from a nearby grocer. At any rate, I am very pleased with Amazon Fresh - food, price, packaging, delivery, etc.

Sandy, Amazon has a history of not treating their drivers well. Before Covid we had an abundance of experienced drivers. After Covid those drivers did not return.

I tip my Walmart drivers on delivery.
Not reported income and not pooled.

Henry, I never even see the driver that delivers my groceries and he does not ring the doorbell.
The bags are left at my (upstairs) door between 5am and 7am (my choice). I tend to wake up at 6 am and my grocery bags are there!

(For Henry's late night snacks?) Walmart extends late-night delivery hours to midnight. Consumers can place orders as late as 10:30 p.m. to ensure a midnight delivery. Article Here
