The regular baseball season winds down this weekend. I watched more games this year than ever before because my team, the Astros, were so dynamic. Having never won a World Series, I am, of course, hoping that 2017 will end that drought.
Three Xtreme members have teams representing their home states in the playoffs. Other than my Houston Astros, Dave2's Boston Red Sox.and Henry's Minnesota Twins will be represented.
CLE: Clinched AL Central, ALDS home field HOU: Clinched AL West, ALDS home field WSH: Clinched NL East, NLDS home field CHC: Clinched NL Central LAD: Clinched NL West, NLCS home field BOS: Clinched postseason berth NYY: Clinched postseason berth; would host if AL Wild Card MIN: Clinched 2nd AL Wild Card ARI: Clinched top NL Wild Card; will host

Hank, as the 2nd AL Wildcard, I believe the Twins will meet either the Yankees or Red Sox in a one game playoff. Have I got that right?
With just 4 regular season games to go, the Astros play all 4 of them against the Red Sox, which will determine whether the Twins meet the Yankees or Sox in the wildcard playoff game.

hate to say it, Sandy but your Astros teed off on Boston pitching and put up 9 runs in the first 2 innings. In the 8th it's 12 - 2, Houston. Fortunately for the Sox the Yankees are on the short end of a 9 - 5 score against the Rays with a couple of innings left.

Hank, I thought the Twins might win after watching the first inning, but it was not to be.
As for the Astros v. the Red Sox, the Astros did win the final series 3-1; but, with a 5 game playoff series looming, it has to be noted that, during the regular season, the Red Sox dominated.
