Is the book I'm currently reading. Been quite few years since I've read a book of his. The last, & only other one, I've read was Mystic River. This is a really good story, well written with two good guys working together, good yet ruthless & sometimes brutal towards the bad guys. Here's the story's outline:
When a former client jumps naked from a Boston landmark, Private Investigator Patrick Kenzie wants to know why. Once a perky young woman in love with life, her suicide is the final fall in a spiral of self-destruction.
What Kenzie discovers is a sadistic stalker who targeted the woman and methodically drove her to her death – a monster that the law can’t touch. But Kenzie can. He and his former partner, Angela Gennaro, will fight a mind-twisting battle against the psychopath, even as he turns tricks on them.

That's interesting because the only book I've read by Dennis LeHane was also "Mystic River." I remember that it was well written and that I liked it, so now I'm wondering why I never looked for and read more of his books. Anyhow, thanks for reminding me of this author. I'm going to look for a copy of "Prayers for Rain."

I've read a few of his books, at least the ones in my local library. "Mystic River", "Shutter Island" and Gone, Baby, Gone". I enjoy his novels, because I enjoy his writing style, but also because much it takes place in the Boston area and the locale is familiar.

Personally, I think it wasn't so much that I forgot about this author but rather that his books aren't commonly seen. When I go looking for books I see the same well-known author's books everywhere, probably the same ones you see. But Lehane's books aren't seen alot in my experience.

Just started reading John Grisham's, "Camino Island". Starts out with a theft, from Princeton University's Firestone Library. Original manuscripts insured for 25 million. Looks interesting at least at the start.
Found it here at our daughter's cottage and it's a 2017 release. I'll have to check before taking it home with me. Maybe she hasn't read it yet???

Dave, Camino Island was released in June, so there's a good chance that your daughter has read it. I also read and liked Grisham's newest, although I think his style has changed quite a bit over the years.
Dave, I hope you will continue posting in our book threads. So far, you are the only one besides me that is a fan of John Grisham. Whenever you do post about a new book, start a new thread, i.e. 'Camino Island by John Grisham.' I might not have noticed it since you tacked it onto the "Prayers For Rain" thread.
