“Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.” - Kahlil Gibran “Love is like seaweed; even if you have pushed it away, you will not prevent it from coming back.” - Nigerian Proverb “Love is a gross exaggeration of the difference between one person and everybody else.” - George Bernard Shaw “We love because it's the only true adventure” - Nikki Giovanni “Love is like a virus. It can happen to anybody at any time.” - Maya Angelou “Always remember this: 'A kiss will never miss, and after many kisses a miss becomes a misses'.” - John Lennon “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.” - William Shakespeare “When we're incomplete, we're always searching for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we're still unfulfilled, we blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on--series polygamy--until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment. Nobody else can provide it for us, and to believe otherwise is to delude ourselves dangerously and to program for eventual failure every relationship we enter.” - Tom Robbins Source(s): statree.com/sad-love-quotes-that-make-you-cry/

Welcome to the group, Dylan. You're a unique member & here's why. In my 18 years of hosting a number of newsgroups yours is the first membership & profile containing a commercial website that I'm going to allow, all other such profiles in the past have been deleted & the member banned. Why the exception? 'Cause the website is one dealing with books & there are several avid readers here, including me. I was debating whether or not to delete your membership & the factor that saved you from such a fate is the fact that you're an author yourself. So, not only am I going to accept your membership I'll help you promote your website as well: Statree. I'm presuming of course that the site is yours, is it? Pete Site Admin/Moderator

Henry, I'm not understanding why you think a DOB (which I don't see) is relevant.

The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.

Henry, that's true.
Three other factors as to why I didn't take action towards Dylan's account & post, those that make me think his intention wasn't to spam this group:
If that was his sole purpose he could've just posted as a guest, without going thru the effort of registering.
Secondly, the website included in his profile is not seen publicly on this board. To see that website one has to click to see his profile info. Which, I believe, the majority of visitors here won't do, so it's an ineffective way to advertise.
And lastly, registering here subjects one to administrative actions on my part. Which means a genuine spammer's account would quickly be deleted & I'd guess that your average spammer knows that about a moderated group & wouldn't waste their effort in joining this group.
However, having said all that I have in several posts there's still a chance that I could be wrong. Which will be determined by Dylan's subsequent behavior in our group.

I LUV Dylans's website, looks like a lot of work went into constructing and maintaining it. I took a quick look and will want to spend more time there. I didn't see anything for sale, or did I miss something?
Anyhow, I welcome anybody into my world who loves books. Dylan, I hope you're coming back soon!

Sandy, choose a book category at the site, then click-on a book's title. You'll then be taken to an Amazon page where you can buy that book.

Well, here's a few, from a long list I'd found, that resonate with me:
Find a heart that will love you at your worst and arms that will hold you at your weakest.
It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember.
The saddest thing in the world is loving someone who used to love you.
People cry, not because they’re weak. But because they’ve been strong for too long.

Sandy, choose a book category at the site, then click-on a book's title. You'll then be taken to an Amazon page where you can buy that book. Okay, I found a book title I could click onto, and it did indeed, take me to the Amazon page where that book is described and sold. I could see that the book is sold by Amazon, but I don't think Amazon is spamming us. Besides, I often provide an Amazon link when I mention a book in a forum, or to a friend, for that matter. So, I went one step further and checked all the third party sellers of that book and the name "Statree" was not among them. Besides, his site has links to thousands upon thousands of books and it is highly unlikely that he is a) selling all of them via Amazon or b) could possibly expect us to find and buy his copy via his Statree website.

Sandy, good detective work, which underscores my opinion that Dylan isn't a spammer.
I just hope he hasn't taken offense that I had to consider that he may be & do some investigation myself. It's just my responsibility as moderator to vet any new member here who's unknown to me.

You might want to keep in mind that (as far as I know) the only legitimate posters who come here are ex-WebTVers (or their associates). I mean, who else knows about this group? Just sayin'.

Yeah, I was concerned, too, that Dylan might take offense over this discussion. So Dylan, please come back and let us pick your brain about the books and recommendations on your wonderful website. I often visit websites like Goodreads to learn more about specific genres and individual books that interest me. And, your site leaves them in the dust!!
