I went to the Pulmonary doctor in Fort Walton Beach today. Took all afternoon and I am wore out. I did a cat scan on my chest. A Lung Function Test on my lungs. And then talked to the doctor.
On the the cat scan he said there is a little something showed up on the right side but it is no big deal. Will have another scan in 3 months to look at it again.
The Lung Function test tells how much of your lungs you are using. In August 15, 2015 I had one done and My FEV1 was 27%. Today my FEV1 is at 19%.
And as usual he has to ask me do I what a lung transplant because he can do nothing else for me. As usual I told him no. We have discussed this numerous times over the years. He is just doing his job.
But I have told him I am ready to go Home when my time comes. Now I can go on like this a few more years and maybe a few more. I am not going anytime soon. I can still live by myself and I am happy and not suffering. The medicine I take keeps me going. I will probably have to cut out any trips in the future though and that makes med sad. I hope everyone has a nice evening.

David, I've always admired your positive outlook in life despite your health problem. I'd hope that if I'm ever afflicted with a serious health concern such as yours that I could follow your fine example & handle it as well as you do.

David, I have a neighbor who was diagnosed with emphysema 20 years ago and has been on oxygen 24/7 since then. Coincidentally, she recently had a CAT scan and has a tiny spot on her right lung, too. Anyhow, like you, she's always had a great attitude and continues to outlive other patients with the same disease. I'm proud of both of you.

To me that's the most important test to tell how much lung a person uses. They say it starts getting rough when it gets down to 16% or less.
I got to where I don't use my oxygen as much as I have. As long as my oxygen saturation in my blood don't go below 90 on the meter I can go without oxygen. I do sleep with oxygen cause there is know way to tell when you are sleeping.

David, I'll ask her (Barbara) if she knows her FEVI and let you know. Lately, she's having more trouble breathing and just started using a nebulizer, but says it doesn't seem to work.
