Pete, thanks for posting that. I purchased my first Mac in 2007 and recently purchased the second. I have to admit that I may have been lulled into a false sense of security about Macs, so have never installed any security measures. I was not advised to upgrade to High Sierra in September, so will take the steps recommended in the article.
btw: I see that you are using Kim Komando's newsletter for consumer tips. I've received great info from other folks who subscribe to her newsletter, so think it is time for me to join, too.

Sandy, you're welcome. It was you who crossed my mind when I found that article.
And yeah, I like KK & her site, which combines tech & consumer news. A useful tip of hers fixed my TV's volume, which would vary: increasing & decreasing on its own on some channels. Used her tip & problem solved.

Did you go with the auto leveling? Vizio has a Vast menu on the smart sets.

Pete, two other forum members here have Apple computers. David has a Mac book and bbqbob owns a Mac Mini.

Henry, no, auto-leveling was already on. What I did was change the equalizer setting from flat to dynamic.

I will have to test drive dynamic.

Henry, I'm glad you said that. Prompted me to look at the sound settings & I found that I had Surround Sound off. Now it's on & sounding much better.

I only have the set speakers, which for size only face down. I do have two of my sets on my dvd reorders though. as my Vizio has spaced legs it is low for now.

Henry, I don't have extra speakers, just those in the TV. But despite that I got better sound.

I will try that also then, maybe even can turn down, not back up for some people.
