Nancy, I haven't had that trouble but I am curious as to why it happens. Before I look into it my first thought is: are you sure it's FF causing the crash? Could it be Adobe Flash instead?
I think that 'cause on my laptop my Software Updater regularly updates AF & I've got FF to prompt me to use AF when that's what's needed to play video content. In other words, AF is only on when I choose it to be.
My point being: is the video content you're watching using AF & do you have the latest updated version of it?
And, it'd probably help to find a solution for you if I knew which OS you're using.

Pete it's definitely a problem with firefox. My flash is up to date and there are too many people in the firefox groups with the same complaints.
From what I'm reading it sounds like firefox has become incompatible with certain cpu's and unfortunately they haven't figured out which cpu's it doesn't work with or how to fix the problem within firefox.
Because it's an incompatibility with certain cpu's that means people using a variety of different OS are having the problem.
I am enjoying Opera, quite a bit more then firefox so I'll stick with it unless I find it's not compatible with certain websites I use. The only website I've come across so far that doesn't work with opera is Fedex tracking but as long as I seldom get delivery through Fedex and can use firefox for that, it's not a reason to go back to firefox.

Nancy, so it's an internal problem within ones computer? If Firefox is incompatible with the Central Processing Unit itself that sounds like a major problem to overcome. I mean there must be quite a number of various CPU's in use so that I can't imagine how Mozilla could figure out which ones Firefox doesn't work well with & then find a remedy.
