My boss's son just killed his first deer on the first day of bow season this evening. It was a 9 pointer with velvet on it's antlers. I went over and helped him hang it in the cooler just a few minutes ago. If you don't like to see a skinned deer, please don't click on the link below. www.dropbox.com/s/rccmvk3aq2ffchm/frank-deer.jpg?raw=1

Byron, archery season doesn't start till early October here in PA. Regular firearms season doesn't begin till the day after Thanksgiving. When that ends then it's muzzle-loader time. Good idea having to click-on your photo's link. I say that 'cause every deer season our newspaper publishes kill photos. The kind you'd see in an outdoor magazine: hunter & downed deer. And invariably some folks will write to the Reader's Forum protesting the photos. Now, how can I get a package of venison steaks from that guy?

Here's how the hunting season goes in Georgia: Georgia Hunting SeasonNo mooching here. I don't eat nor hunt deer although there is plenty around here to hunt. I can't really say if CWD has affected our area or not since i don't talk hunting with all of the hunters around here. Killing animals for fun has never appealed to me. You'll here almost all hunters say, "I eat what I kill", but they all hunt for the sport. I'd only hunt if I really needed to.

Nice deer with a bow. I killed a 3 pointer with a bow when I was a teenager back in the sixties. It was a Bear Cub bow. Nothing fancy, just a bow and arrow
I like to eat deer meat.

David, my first & only bow when I was a kid wasn't fancy either, nothing like the compound ones out today. It was a laminated recurve bow. Just hickory sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass. I think the draw was 45 lbs. Only customizing I did to it was hand-paint the white fiberglass with a camouflage pattern & added a bow-sight.

Byron in GA do you know does he then have per season total or 1 total all seasons limit? Season Limit 10 antlerless deer and 2 antlered deer. One of the two antlered deer must have a minimum of 4 points, 1 inch or longer, on one side of the antlers.
