Yo Pete, As you may (or may not) know, I was offline for several days. but my WiFi connection was restored yesterday. I have a lot of catching up to do here, and everywhere. I also have a lot to learn, but so far, I love this forum format and voted accordingly. I also LUV your new 5.0 logo. btw: When I got back online yesterday, I started the thread below. Sandy, so, there you are! I was concerned about you but didn't know till now why you where absent. Quite a relief that it was only due to knocked-out Wi-Fi. At first there was no logo 'cause as you know Tapatalk wiped it out. So I had to recreate it from scratch & then I had to figure out on to get it on this board. The workings here all are new to me so it took awhile. At first it only said Xtreme but then later on I edited that to include 5.0. Anyway, thanks for the compliment & your liking our new group. I find it puzzling that you can't copy replies in your Harvey thread. Anyway, I'll see what I can do with it. I don't know if I can transfer the entire thread as a whole. I imagine I'll have to copy each reply & paste it over here. Dunno for sure, but I'll work on it. What you can do to help is start a thread on that subject here so I've got a place to add replies & so it's created by you & not me. Great to see you back! OH BTW, that bald alien doesn't look much like you. |

Okay Pete, I can/will copy my original hurricane post from the ye olde 4.0 forum. Copying the responses is a sticky wicket, though because I don't think I can replicate the responders personal avatar.
Speaking of avatar, I very definitely want to find a new one, plus need to learn how to insert it here. In fact, there is a lot I need to learn about the logistics of this forum.

To be honest, at this point I would have to say that I liked the original 4.0 better, mostly because of the quote dysfunction PITA. I've never seen any forum that fu**ed up quote so badly.
Second, when responding, I want to see the last message posted in a thread, not the first, without having to use Quick Reply. I never use Quick Reply because I like and use so many of the options above the message box that are missing in that format. (What do you call those?)
My numero 3 reason is that the "preview" function doesn't work for me in any way whatsoever. When I click onto 'Preview," absolutely nothing changes. I am still looking at the same work in progress.
Finally, this forum format seems to work differently for some of us, perhaps depending upon what browser we are using. I have been offered solutions that don't work for me and, and even worse, am not seeing what others describe. That is the most frustrating situation because I can follow instructions, but not those that don't work on the computer/screen I am using. That, in itself, opens a whole 'nother can of worms.
At this point, I would change my vote to a tepid okay.

I just arrived a couple of days ago and really have no comment at this point, except for one thing. Every time I enter or move about among the threads my Malware warning pops up. It withdraws within a few seconds but it is uncomfortable to see. And it's not a problem that I have with any other group or the previous "Extreme" versions.

Dave this forum has ads though at this moment they're not showing up. Proboards did away with the ads for the first 2 weeks and 2 weeks is up tomorrow.
It could be that you're getting malware warnings because your antivirus is seeing the place holders for the ads ?
If you go down to the testing area post and check out page 2 of that thread you'll see that I posted what kind of ads that we will probably be seeing tomorrow or the near future.
